Madrid 2011

A weekend trip is always a great plan for the family. This time was Madrid, Spain. We met Tomas in Madrid from Friday until Monday.
It was my first time traveling alone with "the new Adri"...I mean the new Adri because she is now a toddler that moves around, has her own opinions and moods. We drove to the airport and she got to nap in the car for a little bit. She did very good walking around the airport, going thru security, boarding and finally seating on the plane for 3 hours.
Mom packed everything she was able to carry for her from toys, crafts and munchies. It was good flight and she did perfect!
We landed in Madrid and our friend Gonzalo came for us, we met Cristina at the airport and drove to the hotel. By then Adri was passed her dinner, bath and bed time...but she was in a great mood and ready to keep going. We went to the hotel restaurant for a drink and something small to eat. Gonzalo was able to play with her for a little and we celebrated his birthday at least for a few minutes.

The weekend was great, the next morning we enjoyed great breakfast and then headed for a day tour. We walked and walked the entire day in the city. Parque del Retiro, Alcala, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and more. We were even part of a manifestation, so pacific we couldn't believe it.

Food was great, we had Spanish, Cuban and even Peruvian!

Friend were also great, we met with Tomas' friend from the office and was a great evening. We also met with my mom's friend from high school "tia Maria" and her sisters. Was a fun walk in the park and Adri enjoyed a lot the gifts from everybody.

We still have a lot more to discover in Madrid and Spain, so hopefully we will be back there soon...
