Finally after a few weeks on trying to decided if I should post the 500+ pictures we have from our summer holiday I was able to reduce them to a 100+.
We went for a week to Italy, landed in Milan and from there drove to Torino, Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Chianti in Tuscany, Florence and back to Milan. In Torino we met our friends from Prague (Marie and Kerian) and a friend from Monterrey (Davide). It was great to see them. Adri and Kerian looked so cute playing together, like if they just saw each other the day or week before. Marie told me Kerian wanted to come to our home and drive in the car with Adri. I hope they will see each other one day in the future.
Davide, Tomas friend, invited us to his home for a great Italian lunch. Appetizers, aperitivos, pasta, salad, and the happy ending, a homemade tiramisu by Davide.
After that we drove to Portofino and Santa Margarita, to enjoy the life of the rich and famous at least from the window of the car and then for a walk and to take some pictures. After that we went to out "real life" hotel, up in the mountains. It was dark and late by the time we arrived there but was charming and the next morning we realized how beautiful was the view. We had a great time driving down towards Cinque Terre. Adri was singing non stop the ABC and some Czech songs. We had a blast just listening to her.
Cinque Terre was perfect! We took the ferry to see the beaches from the sea, then stop at the last one and stayed for a couple of hours in the water, lunch and back to the first area by train. We stop one before to walk to the last one. About 1 km and Adri walked the entire area like nothing. Was great to see her walking, jumping and just enjoying. Was also good for nap in the car for the way back to the hotel.
Next day it was time for more sightseeing. We drove to Lucca and Pisa, Adri enjoyed Pisa the most because of the green area where she was free to play and run around. Pizza for lunch and we were ready to head to our relax part of the trip. A Bed and Breakfast in Chianti. A house with a pool, perfect for Adri to enjoy without tours or having to walk along all day. She loved it, we took her to see the pool around 7pm and there was no way to take her out of the water... The next day all we did was relax, enjoyed the water, the house and each other.
After that, it was time for Florence, we decided to take it easy in the morning, and make Adri take a good nap before going to the city. We all relaxed and left the hotel full of energy by 4pm. Didn't make it back until 10pm! It was great time and weather. She behaved pretty good considering it was probably boring for her. We walked a lot and she even hike to get to Piazza Michelangelo to admire the views of the city.
It was a great vacation enjoying culture, food and great people! Looking forward to see more of Italy.
