Looking for something to do the weekends I found they have a Farmer's Market on Saturday in Miracle Mile. So today after having a really big breakfast (ham, bread, yogurt, cereal and milk) we headed to Coral Gables to check it out. We went with a mission! To buy tomatoes :)
It was packed! And parking was crazy, it took us all the way to the non covered area of the parking lot and 3 floors down and up later. Oh well, some exercise doesn't hurt...
We went to directly to look for the tomatoes and Adri behaved so well, she answered her name and age to the guy. She paid and got her money back - even got a whole dollar discounted for being so nice. And she got to pick her basket with cherry tomatoes! Very good job!
We had the last report from school talking about how they worked on super market and the idea of exchanging money for food...here is what they wrote:
"Studying the “food and nutrition” topic. The Pixies especially enjoyed our class activity on Friday. All the kids were given some pretend money and selected picture of food they liked. They then “paid” for the food and glued it into their shopping baskets. The idea of trading money for the food was a bit confusing at first but they caught on quickly. Adriana did very well at our shopping exercise. She picked out the foods she liked, approached the cashier and traded her money for them. She must have seen mommy do it before..."
Oh well!
Then we walked around the area where they also had a local art fair. She got a free ball and a dolphin with colored sand. We also went for ice cream and then it was too hot for us to keep walking around, plus she wanted to head home to wash and eat her tomatoes!
So we did, arrived directly to wash the tomatoes, served Orly's lunch and enjoy it all! She ate like a 1/3 of the basket!!!
