Adri - 8 months

Today Adri turns 8 months and the last couple of weeks have been like if somebody click the "on" switch on her. It is amazing how many new things she is doing day after day. She is now clearly saying "ta ta" - Czech for daddy, she also waves hello and good bye at the door. We didn't know she was already crawling until we put mats on the living room and her room so she can play without hurting her head with the tiles. We also learned how much she likes to stand up and look around. The baby Einstein toy that she played while on her back is now her favorite toy to grab from and stay up for long time.
The front teeth are also showing pretty good now. Orajel has been our lifesaver when she cries for no reason and we think is the teething. Not so sure about it but works as a charm. Today she actually try a cookie from Gerber (some veggie whole wheat who knows what else flavor). It was funny to see her face reactions but she was actually using her jaw to "chew" on it and finished it all. Will try new flavors and textures in Lima in a few days.

Peruvian grandpas are counting the hours by now, they arranged a crib for her and are buying her food, diapers and all the essentials to receive Adri and play with her. She will spend some extra time with them and we will see how much she gets to learn during the holidays.

Next pictures and blog will be from Lima :)

I got this on my weekly emails from baby center, exactly what she has been doing lately.
Your baby is starting to grasp what it means when someone can no longer be seen, the result of a growing understanding of what's called object permanence. An exciting demonstration of this comes the first time your baby tries to imitate a goodbye wave by twisting a wrist or flapping a hand. Not all 8-month-olds can wave bye-bye, but it's a fun new feat to anticipate. It takes a certain amount of fine-motor coordination to wave in the style of the Queen (or Mom and Dad).
